Joanna Orscheln defends corporate clients in trials involving products liability, premises liability, and personal injury matters. Her experience extends to various industries including propane, trucking, retail, railroad, recreational transportation, healthcare, and insurance.
Joanna has tried more than 12 jury trials in state courts. As a former Jackson County prosecutor,she learned the importance of thorough investigations as well as how to think critically and make decisions in high pressure situations. During Joanna’s time with the Special Victims Unit, she handled the prosecution of crimes involving domestic and sexual violence. This experience makes her uniquely skilled at guiding clients through legal situations when they are at their most vulnerable.
As a civil attorney, Joanna has experience with accident scene investigations, inspections of equipment, written discovery, preparing witnesses and corporate representatives to testify, taking, and defending depositions including expert depositions, motion practice, handling substantive hearings, mediations, and trial. Joanna uses her experience to pinpoint legal issues and strategically defend cases through all stages of litigation.
In her free time, Joanna spends time with her husband “Billy,” their children Millie and Brooks, and their dachshund, Auggie.
