Jim Maloney Authors Chapter in ABA TIPS Reference Handbook on the Homeowners Insurance Policy

Baker Sterchi Member Jim Maloney authored the chapter, “The Expected or Intended Injury Exclusion,” in The Reference Handbook on the Homeowners Insurance Policy, published by the American Bar Association (ABA) Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section (TIPS).

The handbook examines homeowners insurance policies and related case law, providing lawyers with practical guidance to support client representation. Maloney’s chapter addresses issues including insured versus insured, act versus injury and the insured’s diminished mental capacity.

Based in Kansas City, Maloney focuses his practice on appellate, civil and insurance defense litigation. He serves on the steering committee of ALFA International’s Insurance Practice Group and is a member of the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance and DRI’s Insurance Law Committee. He earned his law degree from the University of Missouri School of Law and is admitted to practice in Missouri, Kansas and before the Supreme Court of the United States.

The ABA is a national organization dedicated to advancing the legal profession and supporting the rule of law. TIPS focuses on trial practice and issues involving tort and insurance law.
