Baker Sterchi attorneys Victoria Baker (Portland, Oregon) and Katherine Cortesy (Madison, Wisconsin) have been selected to participate in the 2026–2027 Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel National Ladder Down Program, a yearlong program devoted to the professional development of women lawyers.
With only 24 participants selected nationwide each year, the Ladder Down Program blends coaching, sponsorship and collaboration to support women lawyers in leadership, business development and mentoring. Baker and Cortesy follow colleagues Sam Patterson and Rachel Schafer, who completed the program earlier this year.

She represents insurers, businesses and healthcare providers in complex civil litigation. Cortesy earned her law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School and is licensed to practice in Wisconsin.
