John Barry and Hayley Hollis Complete 2026 IADC Trial Academy

Baker Sterchi attorneys John Barry and Hayley Hollis completed the 2026 International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC) Trial Academy, held Aug. 1-7 at the University of South Carolina Joseph F. Rice School of Law in Columbia, South Carolina.

The IADC Trial Academy is a seven-day intensive program in defense trial advocacy, combining small-group faculty instruction with hands-on trial exercises. Barry and Hollis join more than 4,400 students who have participated in the program since it began in 1973.

Barry handles a broad range of civil matters, including civil rights defense, municipal defense, personal injury and professional liability defense. He is a member of DRI’s Young Lawyers Committee, the Federal Bar Association and Washington Defense Trial Lawyers. Barry earned his law degree from the University of Washington School of Law and is admitted to practice in Washington, the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Washington and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Hollis’ practice includes civil litigation, class actions, multidistrict litigation, complex commercial matters, employment law and professional liability defense. She chairs DRI’s Young Lawyers Employment Law Subcommittee and serves as vice chair of its Young Lawyers Marketing Subcommittee. Hollis earned her law degree from Lewis & Clark Law School and is admitted to practice in Oregon and Washington.
