Baker Sterchi Welcomes Attorney Jared Kiess
Baker Sterchi welcomes Jared Kiess as senior counsel in the firm’s Seattle office. An experienced insurance coverage and litigation attorney, Kiess represents insurance carriers in first- and third-party coverage matters and insureds in civil defense litigation.
Kiess advises insurers on coverage obligations and handles disputes involving policy interpretation, bad faith and extra-contractual claims. His experience spans general liability, auto liability, professional liability, commercial property and builder’s risk coverage. He has secured favorable results for insurers in published coverage decisions and has argued cases before appellate courts.
Kiess earned his law degree,
cum laude, from George Mason University School of Law and his undergraduate degree in political science and economics, with high honors, from the University of Montana. He is licensed to practice in Oregon and admitted before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
