Rachel Schafer

Rachel Schafer is an Associate in the firm’s St. Louis office with a practice focused on defending medical malpractice claims against healthcare providers. Rachel has experience in all aspects of discovery, depositions, and motion practice as well as handling hearings in State and Federal Court. She has also argued before the Missouri Court of Appeals.

Coming from a background of team sports, Rachel appreciates the need for collaboration with clients, the importance of clear communication, and the value in developing and focusing on a shared goal.

Outside the office, Rachel enjoys traveling to visit friends and family, cheering on St. Louis City SC, and listening to podcasts.

• Obtained a unanimous defense verdict as a second chair in twenty-nine minutes after a four-day trial in St. Louis County.  This case involved a patient who contended that she received negligent medical care from her OB/GYN.
• Obtained summary judgment on behalf of a corporate correctional healthcare client in a case involving deliberate indifference, wrongful death, and conspiracy allegations.
