Baker Sterchi Sponsors 2024 Theodore McMillian Black History Month Dinner
Baker Sterchi Cowden & Rice proudly sponsored the 2024 Judge Theodore McMillian Black History Month Dinner, which took place at the Live! by Loews Hotel at Ballpark Village in St. Louis, Missouri, on February 15. This event, co-hosted annually by The Lawyers Association of St. Louis (LASTL) and the Mound City Bar Association (MCBA), provides a platform to recognize the invaluable contributions of African American lawyers and judges to the St. Louis legal community and to honor the memory of Judge McMillian.
Paul Venker, Senior Counsel at Baker Sterchi, attended the dinner, where St. Louis Prosecuting Attorney Gabe Gore served as the featured speaker. Venker noted that Gore’s speech paid tribute to the legacy of African American lawyers in the Circuit Attorney’s Office in St. Louis, including Theodore McMillian, Clyde Cahill, George Draper II, and George Draper III. During the event, Venker had the opportunity to speak with Gabe Gore, expressing his appreciation for Gore's remarkable dedication to the welfare of the people of the City of St. Louis.
