Baker Sterchi and Three Attorneys Recognized in Tier 1 of The Legal 500 U.S. Elite City Focus for Missouri - Commercial Disputes


Baker Sterchi Cowden & Rice LLC has been recommended in Tier 1 of the Firms category by The Legal 500 U.S. Elite City Focus for Missouri - Commercial Disputes category. Three of the firm’s attorneys, Scott Kreamer, Tom Rice and Paul Venker, have also been individually recognized in Tier 1 of the same category. Kreamer focuses his national trial practice on commercial litigation, including construction, financial services, insurance, surety and fidelity, personal injury defense and product liability matters. Rice is an experienced trial attorney whose practice emphasizes product liability, pharmaceuticals, employment litigation and insurance matters. He has tried cases in multiple states for various Fortune 500 companies and coordinates national, regional and industry-wide litigation. He is a member of the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel and the Product Liability Advisory Council, both by-invitation-only organizations, and serves on the steering committee of ALFA International’s Labor & Employment Practice Group. Rice is recognized by The Best Lawyers in America (Kansas City metropolitan area) for his work in litigation, including insurance, labor and employment, mass tort/class actions and product liability.

Venker’s practice is trial- and appeal-focused. He has taken numerous cases to verdict in matters ranging from employment discrimination and medical malpractice to product liability and general liability claims. Since first arguing an appeal before the Missouri Supreme Court in 1985, he has briefed and argued appeals in multiple state and federal appellate courts. Venker has been ranked by Chambers USA and The Best Lawyers in America in Commercial Litigation for the St. Louis metropolitan area. He is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates.
