Baker Sterchi Member Greg Odom recently presented to a business law class at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. The presentation focused on the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act, including what is regulated and required under the Act, how courts have interpreted the Act, and legal issues raised in the numerous lawsuits filed under the Act.
Odom, located in Baker Sterchi’s Belleville office, is an experienced trial attorney whose practice is focused on defending clients in mass toxic torts and commercial litigation. He represents individuals, local businesses, and Fortune 500 companies in state and federal courts across Illinois and Missouri, with an emphasis on defending clients in southern Illinois and metropolitan St. Louis region.
His commercial litigation experience includes representation of individuals, businesses, and government agencies in cases arising from various types of commercial projects, ranging in value from $20,000 to over $25 million. He also advises businesses and groups on cyber liability, privacy and data breach issues, including issues related to biometric privacy law.
