David Schneidewind is a Member in the Belleville office, where he represents railroads in Federal Employers Liability Act cases, handles toxic tort matters, insurance defense, and deals with general corporate matters and land issues. He also represents governmental entities in general corporate matters, administrative matters, and litigation, and doctors and hospitals in medical malpractice litigation.
David’s experience extends from Class I railroads to local switching railroads, and in the governmental sector from various county departments and agencies, to municipalities, water districts, and port districts. He serves as legal counsel to St. Clair County ETSB-911 and the Zoning Board of Appeals of St. Clair County, Illinois, as well as a special Assistant State’s Attorney in St. Clair County, one of the most populous counties in the St. Louis Metropolitan Area. He is also an arbitrator for the Twentieth Judicial Circuit Court and has served as a mediator in various UIM matters.
Outside of his practice, David is actively involved in civic, charitable, and fraternal organizations. He is general counsel to the Ainad Shriners, E. St. Louis, IL, and is a current member and past Chairman of the Board of Governors of Shriners Children’s–St. Louis, Missouri. He enjoys the outdoors, golf and resides in a small Southern Illinois town where his family has deep roots.
