Defense Verdict Obtained for Retail Client

Baker Sterchi successfully defended a major retail client at trial where plaintiff claimed she tripped and fell over a mat in the client’s store causing her to break her hip. Plaintiff asked the jury for an award of $4M.  After a four day trial in the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri, the jury returned a defense verdict. The verdict was affirmed by the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals.
