Greg Odom Co-Authors IDC Quarterly Article on Personal Jurisdiction Developments
Baker Sterchi Member Greg Odom co-authored the article, “How Recent Illinois Personal Jurisdiction Developments May Impact Toxic Tort Defendants,” published in a recent issue of the IDC Quarterly.
The article examines recent legislative and judicial developments involving general, specific and consent jurisdiction in Illinois and their potential effects on toxic tort defendants. Odom and his co-author discuss strategies for defense counsel navigating these developments, including jurisdictional challenges, removal, forum non conveniens and the application of foreign law.
Based in Baker Sterchi’s Belleville office, Odom co-chairs the firm’s Toxic Tort Practice Group and serves as editor of the firm’s Product Liability Law Blog. He defends clients in toxic tort and commercial litigation in Illinois and Missouri state and federal courts. Odom also serves as second vice president of the Illinois Defense Counsel and as a member of its board of directors.
