Heather Shore Presents DCBA CLE on AI and Document Management


On Sept. 4, Baker Sterchi Member Heather Shore presented “Smart Documents, Serious Benefits?: Ethical, Regulatory, and Professional Risks in Using AI for Document Management” during a Douglas County Bar Association (DCBA) Brown Bag CLE.

Shore discussed the use of artificial intelligence in document management and the ethical and professional risks attorneys should consider when adopting AI-powered tools. The presentation addressed the importance of responsible technology use while evaluating the potential benefits AI can offer in managing legal documents and related workflows.

Based in Baker Sterchi’s Kansas City office, Shore has nearly 30 years of experience handling complex construction, surety and commercial litigation. She co-chairs the firm’s Construction Practice Group and serves as president of Kansas Bar Association’s Construction Law Section. Shore frequently speaks at local and national programs on legal and practical issues affecting attorneys and the construction industry and is licensed to practice in Missouri, Kansas, Colorado and Texas.

DCBA is a nonprofit corporation whose members are lawyers, judges and law students residing in Douglas County, Kansas. DCBA CLE presentations are open to organization members free of charge.
