Heather Shore to Participate in AAA Webinar on AI in Arbitration

On Sept. 25, Baker Sterchi Member Heather Shore will participate in “Practical Advice for Use of AI in Arbitration by Arbitrators, Litigators and In-House Counsel,” a webinar presented by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) as part of its Fall Construction Webinar Series.

The webinar will address the expanding use of artificial intelligence throughout the dispute resolution process, including AI tools used for legal research, document review, case management and decision support. Panelists will also discuss disclosure obligations, methods for challenging or defending AI-generated analyses and appropriate discovery, deposition and hearing questions involving AI.

Additional topics will include the use of discovery orders and case management protocols, ethical considerations surrounding arbitrators’ use of AI and potential due process and enforceability issues involving AI-assisted decision-making.

Based in Baker Sterchi’s Kansas City office, Shore co-chairs the firm’s Construction Practice Group. She represents clients in complex construction and surety disputes and serves on the AAA’s panels of construction, consumer and commercial arbitrators. She regularly speaks at national conferences on issues affecting the construction industry and is licensed to practice in Missouri, Kansas, Colorado and Texas.
