John Watt Named to Missouri Lawyers Media 2024 Construction POWER List
For the second consecutive year, Baker Sterchi Member John Watt is recognized on the Construction POWER List by Missouri Lawyers Media.
This annual list highlights 30 leading construction law attorneys in Missouri, selected through comprehensive research by Missouri Lawyers Media’s editorial team. Their evaluation includes discussions with attorneys, analysis of verdicts and settlements, and reviews of Missouri Lawyers Weekly archives. The list features professionals skilled in addressing construction-related issues such as defect disputes, contract negotiations and payment enforcement.
Based in Kansas City, Watt defends businesses in high-stakes litigation involving product liability, construction and toxic torts. With significant trial experience in state and federal courts, he has conducted hundreds of expert witness depositions, argued before appellate courts in Missouri and Kansas and represented clients in arbitration and mediation proceedings.
As a steering committee member of ALFA International’s Construction Practice Group, Watt co-chaired its seminars in 2022 and 2023, held in Santa Barbara, California, and Whistler, British Columbia, respectively. He currently serves as vice chair/marketing chair of the practice group and will assume the role of chair in 2025. Additionally, he regularly contributes to the Missouri and Kansas sections of ALFA’s
