On September 27, Baker Sterchi Member John Watt will speak at the Kansas Motor Carriers Association (KMCA) Annual Convention in Manhattan, Kansas. His presentation will cover best practices for records retention, considerations for downloading ECM data after a crash, and the importance of limiting driver discussions to avoid depositions.
Watt, based in the firm’s Kansas City office, has 20 years of jury trial experience. He represents motor carriers of all sizes, from single-owner operators to national companies, managing everything from pre-suit claims and litigation to accident scene response and evidence preservation. He also advises carriers on pre-accident best practices to help mitigate risk. An active speaker on transportation industry issues, Watt has contributed to ALFA International’s Transportation Law Compendium and regularly presents to insurers and insureds on key topics. He is licensed to practice in Missouri, Kansas and Massachusetts.
Founded in 1936, KMCA provides organized leadership and support for the transportation industry, helping improve public services and elevate the industry’s standing.
