At the Annual Meeting of ALFA International (ALFA) on October 28, Kara Stubbs was elected by the membership to serve on the Board of Directors in the office of Vice Chair. Kara’s term as Vice Chair begins immediately and will run through October 2018, at which time she will automatically succeed to the Chair’s office through October 2020. Upon completing her term as Chair, Kara will continue to serve on the Board of Directors for another two years.
The Board of Directors are responsible for establishing all policies relative to accomplishing the purposes of ALFA, recommending the Corporation’s budget to the Membership, approving applications for membership, supervising the work of the Chief Executive Officer, and otherwise managing the business and affairs of ALFA. As Vice Chair of the Board, Kara will perform duties as from time to time may be assigned by the Executive Committee or Board of Directors and, in the absence of the Chair, will perform the duties of the Chair.

Kara has previous experience on the Board of Directors in various roles from 2010-2013. She has served as a Member of the North American Membership Committee, Chair and Vice Chair of the Product Liability & Complex Tort Practice Group, and Chair of the Medical Device and Drug Practice Group.
