Baker Sterchi Member Kara Stubbs has been invited to serve as a faculty member of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association (KCMBA) Ross T. Roberts Trial Academy held at the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri from Sept. 2025 through April 2026. On Nov. 5, she will present a session covering direct and cross-examination of lay witnesses.
Stubbs has extensive product liability experience, particularly in defending pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers. She co-chairs Baker Sterchi’s Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Practice Group and frequently authors papers and speaks at national conferences on topics relevant to these industries. She is a past chair of the ALFA International Board of Directors and a current steering committee member and past chair of ALFA’s Product Liability & Complex Tort Practice Group. Stubbs also has held leadership roles within the American Bar Association, DRI and the International Association of Defense Counsel.
The Ross T. Roberts Trial Academy is an annual program organized in conjunction with the KCMBA Young Lawyers Section and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri. The program trains new lawyers in trial advocacy skills, providing guidance from experienced litigators and judges and opportunities to practice trial techniques in a realistic courtroom setting.related services
