On May 14, Baker Sterchi Member Laura Beasley will co-present at the Illinois Defense Counsel (IDC) Damages Conference in Chicago, Illinois. The session, “Charming the Reptile: Advanced Strategies for Preparing Corporate Representatives and Witnesses for Reptile-Style Litigation,” will address the impact of “The Edge” tactics on witnesses, strategies for countering those tactics through informed and thorough witness preparation, and practical considerations when witnesses become influenced by them.
Based in the firm’s Belleville office, Beasley focuses her practice on civil defense litigation. She is a past president of the IDC and member of its Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee as well as Legislative Committee. Beasley is also a member of the ADTA Executive Council Class of 2027 and serves as a hearing board officer for the Illinois Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission. She serves as Illinois state representative for DRI and is a board member of the East St. Louis Bar Association and the St. Clair County Bar Association. Beasley is licensed to practice in Illinois and Missouri.
