Baker Sterchi Member Megan Stumph has received Legal Aid of Western Missouri’s Volunteer Attorney Project Pro Bono Award.
The award recognizes attorneys who have volunteered their time and legal experience to assist Legal Aid clients. Through the Volunteer Attorney Project, private attorneys provide free legal advice and representation to eligible individuals facing civil legal matters, helping expand access to justice.
Based in Baker Sterchi’s Kansas City office, Stumph handles complex commercial litigation matters involving banking and financial services, real estate, creditors’ rights, construction and retail disputes. She chairs the firm’s Financial Services and Real Estate Practice Groups.
Stumph has long supported community organizations and pro bono initiatives. In 2022, she was recognized as a Pro Bono Champion by the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association for her work on a complex guardianship case.
Legal Aid of Western Missouri provides civil legal assistance to individuals and families who might otherwise lack access to representation. Stumph was recognized alongside other honorees at the organization’s Party with a Purpose on Oct. 28.
