Summer Clerkship

Are you looking for a summer clerkship opportunity that will expose you to a wide array of civil litigation practice areas and prepare you to grow your career with the firm? If so, Baker Sterchi’s summer associate program may be the perfect fit for you. Spending you summer with us in either Kansas City or St. Louis will give you real, hands-on experience to jumpstart your career as a litigator.

Our summer associates engage in a variety of litigation-oriented tasks under the direction of seasoned trial attorneys, including without limitation:

• Drafting memoranda and correspondence to assist and inform clients
• Drafting discovery requests to opposing parties and responses to discovery for firm clients
• Performing legal research to help inform litigation strategy decisions
• Drafting pleadings, motions (including dispositive motions), deposition preparation outlines and deposition summaries, blog articles, and other key legal writing projects
• Attending meetings with clients, mediations, depositions, court hearings and trials when available

And our summer program is not all about work. We look forward every year to bringing summer associates into the Baker Sterchi family, attending social events together and forming lasting professional relationships that will endure throughout your career.
